About the Author

Hello, my name is Christopher Nocton and I am the author of Legends Of The Phoenix (LOTP). I have absolutely no formal training in writing novels and my spelling is terrible (thank God for spell checkers and proof readers!) but nether the less I am passionate about LOTP and the fantasy world I've created.

In 2004 I found myself sat at my desk, in front of my computer, disheartened. I couldn't imagine sitting behind a computer screen all day everyday working for someone else. It turns out I don't mind working on the computer when it's something I love doing. I'm sure this can be said for most people, when its something you love I suppose you just get stuck in. I never intended writing a book to begin with I just had these thoughts in my mind and decided when I'd finished university to sit down and write them up.

Four years on and I've made up my own little world (Phosia), a lot of it's in my head, but it is so exciting getting ideas to fit into the whole LOTP project piece by piece like a jigsaw. I find when I write that I daydream, these dreams form a mish mash drawing upon my life experiences, this skewed reality often finds it's way into my writing.

The thing I find hardest to do is concentrate on a particular part of the book at a time, for example whilst writing Legends Of The Phoenix, my thought process was such that when I came up with an idea I'd jot it down as soon as possible and then try to fit it into the LOTP story. Not everything is relevant and I don't like to force things in, it's much better when the work is a natural progression. Anything I don't use I keep for other none LOTP related material or, sometimes it becomes useful in the script later on.

I have plenty of ideas for future projects and hope that LOTP will help me release my creative ambitions. I hope you enjoy the first installment and look out for the next release 'New Beginnings' which will hopefully be out by the end of 2009.
